10 Terrible Films That Spectre Actors Want You To Forget

2. The Interpreter (2005) - Jesper Christensen

Rotten Tomatoes: 56% The Plot: When an African born UN translator overhears details of an assassination plot spoken in a dialect that only a few €“ her included €“ people can understand, her world is thrown into chaos. Taken into FBI custody after the killers then target her, federal agent Tobin Keller is charged with her protection, though as he digs deeper into her past he starts to suspect there might be more to this woman than meets the eye. Why It Sucks: It€™s a decent enough premise and a bold effort by director Sydney Pollack, but in the end The Interpreter doesn€™t pack the punch it could have. Based on a fictitious nation and rife with vagueness, it€™s really hard to get your head into this film, despite enjoyable performances from Nicole Kidman and Sean Penn. The supporting cast - Jesper Christensen included - get lost somewhere between confusion and boredom, blending into the background to be forgotten about. The narrative is just a bit too implausible for the film to be taken seriously, and as a thriller it lacks the required roller-coaster ride, instead choosing to stay steady and take no risks.
