10 Terrible Horror Movies Everybody Loves

6. House Of Wax

Anaconda Movie
Warner Bros.

2005's House of Wax legitimately features some of the worst acting ever seen in a horror film. It says a lot that notoriously vacuous socialite Paris Hilton's performance actually outshines the likes of established actors Chad Michael Murray and Jared Padalecki. The movie depicts a group of stranded friends who are hunted by a demented pair of killer twins through a wax museum.

House of Wax is the typical mid 2000s slasher targeted at the high school demographic, except it's arguably even worse than the usual pickings; boasting a particularly unenviable Rotten Tomatoes rating of 27%. For context, Tommy Wiseau's The Room - frequently brought up in the debate concerning nominations for the worst movie ever made - clocks in just below with 26%.

All of this screams "unwatchable to the point one would consider blinding themselves", which makes House of Wax's viewing experience turn out to be an even more pleasant surprise. The movie itself is unapologetic garbage but the gruesome kill sequences, impressive special effects work and hilariously bad performances from the aforementioned Hilton and her co-stars make for unabashed fun across a blood-soaked and wax-covered 113 minutes.

Ask anyone who has heard of the film and they'll instantly decry House of Wax as a disastrously bad movie. With all that being said, you would be considerably harder pushed to find a person who didn't actually enjoy it.
