10 Terrible Horror Movies That Reward You For Staying Until The End

8. Slumber Party Massacre II

The Forest 2016
New Concorde

As campy as The Slumber Party Massacre was, it doesn't hold a candle to this sequel. Boasting dance routines, singing solos, and a villainous greaser armed with a drill guitar, this slasher musical couldn't be more bonkers.

That's why it's a pity how it never really comes together. Though the musical numbers are entertaining, they go on too long to maintain interest, and with the Driller Killer now attacking his victims in their dreams, SPM2 feels like a blatant rip-off of A Nightmare on Elm Street.

Fortunately, it ends with a mind-melting "gotcha" moment. After Courtney sets the killer on fire, it looks like he's gone for good. However, this turns out to be a fake-out. Courtney wakes up in her bedroom with her boyfriend, who was supposedly murdered by the jackhammering maniac.

But it turns out to be a double fake-out. Courtney wakes up again, this time in a dank asylum. As she hallucinates the killer drilling into her room, it appears the events in the first film caused Courtney to snap, forcing her to be institutionalised.

For such a goofy sequel, it was shocking to see things take such a dark turn at the very last minute.
