10 "Terrible" Movie Sequels That Are Actually Good

8. Spider-Man 3

Psycho 2 Norman Bates

Spider-Man 3 - the film so infamous that it basically killed Sam Raimi's classic Spidey trilogy.

The 2007 film was heavily criticised for the simple fact that there was just far too much going on, as it attempted to further Peter and Mary Jane's character arcs, introduce Venom as the primary villain, turn Harry Osborn into the New Goblin and here have Sandman while you're at it because why the hell not?!

Look, this writer isn't going to deny that there was a lot happening. But does that make it terrible? No. Far from it, in fact, as the film does have a number of qualities that should be appreciated, including Tobey Maguire's memorable (and meme-worthy) performance and the thrilling special effects. And a few issues aside, each of the film's multiple narratives all showed promise... and had they been given the time to breathe that they needed, they could have made for stronger solo offerings.

It's definitely the worst of the three, but again, it's by no means terrible.
