10 "Terrible" Movie Sequels That Are Actually Good

5. Jaws 2

The Jaws franchise is an example of both the very best and worst of Hollywood filmmaking, with the first considered one of the all time greats and some of its sequels among the most reviled. Somewhere in between all of that, however, lies Jaws 2 - a movie that many once considered to be one of the worst sequels ever... until the Jaws franchise actually went and produced one of the worst sequels ever.

Yes, Jaws is a classic and, yes, the franchise got considerably worse with each film, but the one that often gets overlooked entirely is the second movie in the saga - which, in all honesty, is actually pretty good.

Not only does Roy Schneider reprise his most iconic role as Chief Martin Brody, making the film feel like the only truly direct sequel, it features a solid storyline that delves into the character's fears and concerns over the arrival of another great white, making the whole thing rather suspenseful as you just wait for him to be proven right.

Sure, Jaws 2 may never reach the thrilling heights of the original, but it's a strong follow-up that is in a completely different league from the dreadful sequels.
