10 Terrible Movie Super Villains Which Deserve Another Attempt

1. Galactus

Another example of a world-ending Marvel villain reduced to a literal shadow of his former self, Galactus' inclusion in Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer was an ill-advised one.

Sure, the 2007 movie predated the MCU and the prospect of the character being something more than a one-off villain, but Fox's superhero sequel got it all so very, very wrong.

Firstly, he's a cloud.

Yes, the ancient, trans-universal cosmic entity that is Galactus was reduced to nothing more than a large, swirling mass of sci-fi water vapour, and that was intended to be enough to portray the exact level of threat that the character poses to humanity.

Galactus makes for an interesting villain: instead of being evil in the usual sense, he is simply driven to destroy life through his consumption of planets in order to sustain his own existence. While that theme deserves a much closer look, as well as an examination of the moral and ethical implications that come with defeating him, Rise of the Silver Surfer brushed all of that under the rug and simply let the heroes fight the big cloud.

Could Galactus eventually become a main MCU antagonist? Absolutely. Should he look anything like this big black cloud? Absolutely not.
