James Cameron is known for his blockbuster hits like The Terminator, Titanic, and Avatar. His unbelievable success would have seemed highly unlikely to anyone who watched his first feature film, Piranha II: The Spawning. It's a horror movie about flying piranhas that terrorize and attack people near the shipwreck the piranhas use as their lair.

This film boasts some of the worst over-acting and horrifyingly bad special effects of any motion picture released. Cameron's lack of experience is clear to see, as scene after scene is full of mistakes that would not be repeated once he became a filmmaking veteran.

If someone were to tune in during the middle of the film, they would likely assume it was a parody. Unfortunately for Cameron, that isn't the case, but that only makes his future work that much more impressive by comparison. All that there is to do with Piranha II: The Spawning is to laugh and be thankful that it was not indicative of Cameron's true talents.
