10 Terrible Movies That Have Surprisingly Awesome Soundtracks

1. Maximum Overdrive

The Movie: It's a Stephen King movie about killer trucks that King directed while coked out of his gourd. If that sounds awesome, then you were clearly born well after it was released. This is the movie that single-handedly proved most novelists shouldn't be allowed to direct the film adaptations of their work, nearly destroying Emilio Esteves's career in the process. Luckily, his bland, yawn-inducing actings was largely overshadowed by every other aspect of how terrible Maximum Overdrive was. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fKhTk0IynHM&list=PLFF5CC37BCB67EC3F The Soundtrack: If this movie can be credited for anything--and this is pretty iffy territory--it at least helped bolster the career of AC/DC. When tapped to provide a soundtrack to this weird disaster of a B-movie, AC/DC took the easy route, writing a few new songs (mostly instrumentals) and using the rest of it as a Greatest Hits repackaging. It was released as a soundtrack and a standalone album called Who Made Who. The only single released from the album, the title track, became one of AC/DC's most successful songs on the charts. It brought the elder statesmen of blues rock back into public consciousness, which is the one thing you can thank this piece of garbage movie for.
