10 Terrible Movies That Tricked Us With Awesome Posters

What The Poster Promised Us: We were first tantalised with the idea of Xenomorphs and Predators battling it out in the AVP comics in the late 1980s and again in 1990 with the surprise cameo of a Xenomorph skull in Predator’s rather middling 1990 sequel, but now we’re finally going to see two of cinema’s most iconic alien species make their first proper big screen debut together.

It’s a simple design with a focus on its two antagonists in all their otherworldly glory teamed with a tagline – ‘Whoever wins … we lose’ – that suggests the human characters in this movie are doomed to go down in a gory fashion. Which is just want we want.

What We Actually Got: The long-awaited pairing was a major let-down with a distinct lack of gore for a film featuring two of the most vicious villains in the action-horror genre. The promising tagline unfortunately only rang true in the sense that everyone who saw the movie lost the cost of a cinema ticket and a couple of hours of their lives that they’ll never get back.
