10 Terrible Movies That Wasted Amazing Casts

Glittering cast of critically acclaimed actors? Check. An interesting tale of real-life political corruption as a basis? Check. Flashy 1970s aesthetic? Check. A coherent plot and a film actually worth all the hype? Not quite. While David O. Russell’s seventh feature film American Hustle had all the ingredients to be brilliant, it unfortunately fell way short of the mark.

Russell reunited with the tried-and-tested actor formula from his previous hit Silver Linings Playbook alongside fellow favourites Christian Bale and Amy Adams and though the cast acted their socks off (and were fully deserving of their award wins and nominations), it didn't work.

They were undermined horribly by what is truthfully a mediocre sprawl of a film with an overly convoluted plot and meandering direction masquerading as something better.
