Say what you will about mockbusters, but sometimes there can be something about them that is so inherently bad that they become enjoyable. Especially when they take an already wild concept and make it even more bonkers. However, there are movies that just don't scream out for a mockbuster at all because they're already awful to begin with.

Okay, High School Musical may not have been awful to its target audience, but to everybody else on the planet, it wasn't great. This makes the advent of mockbuster Sunday School Musical all the more bizarre.

The movie follows a group of teens trying to save their church from financial ruin by entering a competition to win the prize money. It's a story you've seen a gazillion times already and know how it's ultimately going to play out.

The one good thing about this feature? It provided a platform for director Rachel Lee Goldenberg to get her start, and now she's directing movies like Unpregnant and Valley Girl. It just goes to show everyone has to start somewhere.
