10 Terrifying Horror Films That Will Haunt Your 2015

5. Somnia

Release date: 2015 Speaking of good recent horror films, Oculus was that. The Hollywood feature debut of Doctor Who's Karen Gillan a scant few months before she was tearing up the cosmos in Guardians Of The Galaxy, Mike Flanagan's atmospheric ghost story saw Gillan's orphan and Brenton Thwaites as her brother dealing with their disturbing past. What could easily have been your run-of-the-mill haunted house story with a bit of childhood tragedy thrown in for good measure actually turned out to be much more of a interesting and disturbing proposition, and marked Flanagan as a director to watch. He's netted another couple of reasonably big names for this year's Somnia in Kate Bosworth and Tom Jane, with the story (a child whose nightmares come to life) sounding a little Insidious-like. But in the hands of Flanagan? It could end up being anything.
