10 Terrifying Horror Movies Starring MCU Actors

The Sci-Fi genre can often feel a little mistreated in horror, but the two distinct worlds blend so well, and Synchronic is a fantastic example of how to bring them together. This dark and twisted movie shows a real and convincing world that is equal parts outlandish and utterly believable. This makes the horror all the more natural and will have you confounded yet engaged.

Synchronic follows a pair of paramedics (Anthony Mackie and Jamie Dornan). The two encounter a collection of gruesome and haunting deaths linked to a new and otherworldly drug. Soon Steve (Mackie) becomes intrinsically involved with the substance, as he discovers a time-pill that could help him find his partner's missing daughter.

While elegant visual presentation is usually a staple of Sci-Fi horror, this film does deserve some additional credit for the incredibly well-achieved aesthetic. The movie generates a hauntingly quiet yet frightening world full of danger and terror, which only gets worse the deeper Steve delves into this world.

Anthony Mackie works so well in this role, as he - and Dornan - bring some excellent star power to what might have otherwise been an under the radar title. Seeing him working on independent movies is refreshing, and allows him to add a darker side to his resume.
