6. Jeremy Renner/Idris Elba - 28 Weeks Later
It's relatively rare for horror sequels to successfully keep the series going without ruining it. Thankfully - even without Danny Boyle - this follow-up to the ground-breaking 28 Days Later did a great job of advancing the story, while not ruining its predecessor. What makes it even better is that Hawkeye and Heimdall came along for the ride.
28 Weeks Later occurs six months after the rage virus hit Great Britain's population, turning the majority of its people into animalistic zombie-like creatures who ravaged the survivors, and country itself. In order to establish a safe zone in London, NATO military forces salvage an area and use it to hold civilians. But everything begins to breakdown as the safety of the site is violated, and the virus is reintroduced.
Like the original title, this film is action-packed and full of intensive zombie horror. The inescapable pulse-pounding fear to the movie always keeps you in a state of anxiety, and as the events of the film unfold, the tension only rises.
In a similar vein to the first entry, this is a buy one get one free deal with MCU actors, as both Renner and Elba play significant and memorable roles in the flick.
