10 Things All Future Spider-Man Movies Must Do
Keep the mask on Spidey!
Before summer 2002, the prospect of watching a big-budget Spider-Man movie was the stuff of fans' dreams. Fast forward to 2015, and after five films and The Amazing Spider-Man 2's disappointing box-office, the wall-crawler's big-screen future looked uncertain. The franchise Sony had announced prematurely was hanging by a thread, and nobody besides them seemed to care. After months of rumours and speculation, fans let out a collective sigh of relief when Marvel and Sony announced plans to bring Spider-Man into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, perhaps the only move capable of getting audiences excited about the character again. The glimpse of Tom Holland's Spider-Man in the Captain America: Civil War trailer reveals a costume paying homage to Steve Ditko's, work while adding new elements. A bold look to set this far apart from previous adaptations. Reception from fans has been far more positive than to Sony's previous two movies, little surprise given Marvel's trend for nailing their characters and making them engaging to modern audiences. To secure Spider-Man's future in Hollywood though, Marvel and Sony must redeem him in the eyes of audiences and put him in a film unlike any we've already seen. So, how can they do this?
