10 Things Avengers: Infinity War Must Avoid
4. Too Much Humour
It's been a common criticism of Joss Whedon's Avengers movies, especially Age of Ultron, that there's too much humour, and the relentless quipping ends up undercutting any palpable threat the narrative attempts to set up.
This is especially important heading into Infinity War, as it's essentially the culminating event everything's been working towards, and so it needs to be relatively serious, at least when it counts.
Will It Happen?: Well, the Russos do have a much better handle on tone than Whedon, so it's easy to be fairly optimistic that they won't make the movie too funny.
Hopefully they don't try to overcompensate for all the dramatic portent and probable superhero death, especially as having so many iconic superheroes in one space is so ripe for comedic banter.
Balance is important: Infinity War should be funny, but only when it's right.
