10 Things Christopher Eccleston Has Done Since Leaving Doctor Who

9. Fortitude

High in the public consciousness at the moment is Christopher Eccleston's brief turn in the new Sky Atlantic drama Fortitude. In the first episode of this ongoing drama, Eccleston plays Professor Charlie Stoddart, the British scientist in charge of the arctic biology department at the Fortitude research base. Spoiler alert - he's found murdered in episode 1. Unless there are a multitude of flashback scenes featuring Stoddart in later episodes, that may well be it for Eccleston's involvement with Fortitude. Since the programme looks like it's devolving into a more conventional drama after an atmospheric beginning, Eccleston seems to have made the right call in making a brief appearance and then moving on to something else before the series fizzles out.
