10 Things You Didn't Know About Aliens

2. An Alien Egg Is Now Exhibited In The Smithsonian Institute

A lot of the time, props featuring in iconic movies end up in the hands of wealthy private collectors - some of them have been known to fetch a small fortune at auctions, perhaps most notably Marilyn Monroe's famous white dress from The Seven Year Itch, which fetched over $4.5 million. An egg from the Aliens set ended up in entirely different hands after the film was released, finding itself on display in the unlikely location of the Smithsonian National Museum of American History. Sigourney Weaver handed the 3 foot tall plaster of Paris prop over the present to the museum in person in December of 1986 to mark the significance of the Alien franchise on American culture, joining other iconic props including Mr Spock's ear and figures of R2D2 and C3PO from Star Wars.
