10 Things You Didn't Know About The Marvel Cinematic Universe

9. The MCU Was Originally Called The "Marvel Cinema Universe"

Yeah, so it's a slight change, but it still makes for a somewhat interesting fact. When he first unveiled the core concept that defines the Marvel Cinematic Universe, then, Kevin Feige - President and Overlord of Everything Marvel - referred to the MCU as the "Marvel Cinema Universe," which is super similar, except that it doesn't quite have the same ring to it. Later, the studio branded it as the "Marvel Cinematic Universe." Granted, Fiege was yet to hone the franchise as we know it today when he first unveiled that working title of the soon to be gargantuan project, and presumably - in partnership with the marketing department - decided to extend the middle word to imbue it with a little added epicness (you know, in the same way that Mark Zuckerberg dropped the "the" in The Facebook to make it better). They certainly made the right choice.
