10 Things Every Harry Potter Fan Wishes Were In The Movies

4. Percy's Storyline

Not every Weasley is perfect. Percy is, for lack of a better word, an ass. But in the films he's nothing more than the prefect that takes his job too seriously.

In the books, Percy's relationship with his family is complicated. By the time Voldemort returns, Percy is working at the ministry, and disowns his family when he tells them that they are fools to believe Dumbledore, and his loyalties lie with the ministry. When his father is attacked by Nagini, Percy doesn't visit him, or even ask how he's doing. Their strained relationship takes a toll on an already overwhelmed Molly, who pretty much breaks down crying anytime his name is mentioned. Time and time again he disrespects his family in favor of the ministry.

That is, until Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. He decides to join the Order in the fight against Voldemort, and begs forgiveness from his family, who accept his apologies. The lack of this plot line in the movies makes the audience miss the true tragedy of Fred Weasley's death. Fred was the most vocal opponent of Percy's actions against the family, and their relationship had been completely mangled until the Battle of Hogwarts.

Then, in the battle, they fought next to each other, as Percy dueled his own bewitched boss, and Fred watched and laughed with his brother just moments before his death. This was just a serious missed opportunity to show one of the most heartbreaking moments in the entire series on screen.
