10 Things Everyone Always Gets Wrong About Star Wars

2. Stormtroopers Can't Aim

There are plenty of in-jokes among Star Wars fans. Poking fun at Darth Vader's dramatic "Noooooooo!", imitating Yoda and joking about Luke/Leia's accidental incest are chief among them. Still, nothing compares to the mockery of Stormtroopers and their "terrible aim".

At a glance, it makes perfect sense to accuse these soldiers of being poor shots, as, yes, they never manage to hit any of the main characters. But, let's not forget that these troopers are the standing army for the most powerful empire in the galaxy.

There's plenty of evidence to suggest that Clone/Stormtroopers are decent shots. The iconic Order 66 showed them hitting their targets with stark precision for the most part. Plus, in A New Hope, they managed to kill plenty of Jawas, with Ben Kenobi even saying, "Only Imperial Stormtroopers are so precise". Those are just a few examples.

The truth is, they are only bad shots when it comes to catching the central characters. Because, of course, they are; if they shot them all, there would be no movies. Never underestimate the power of plot armour.
