10 Things We Expect To Happen In The Marvel Cinematic Universe

9. The Netflix Shows Will Cross Over With The Movies

Despite being called the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the universe itself has recently began branching off into television. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is currently in its first season, and there€™s been speculation regarding Peggy Carter getting her own series. However, the shows aren€™t specifically limited to the television format. Last year, it was announced that Netflix and Marvel would be teaming up to produce four drama series based on Daredevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and Jessica Jones. These shows, each 13 episodes, will eventually culminate in the characters teaming up in a Defenders miniseries. This one€™s a no-brainer. Given their street-level status, it€™s unlikely (but not impossible) that these heroes will team up with The Avengers. However, like all the other parts of the MCU, everything is connected. The most obvious connection (aside from the shows interacting with themselves) would be for S.H.I.E.L.D. agents to pop in occasionally to keep track of these vigilantes. There will also probably be many €œblink-and-you-miss-it€ moments, like a TV report or newspaper headline referring to a movie character. Either way, don€™t expect the Netflix shows to be completely self-contained. There will be plenty of opportunities for crossovers with the movies...although I wouldn€™t expect the Guardians of the Galaxy to drop by and help with street crime in New York.
