10 Things We Expect To Happen In The Marvel Cinematic Universe
8. The Inhumans Will Appear
They may not be as well-known as mutants, but the Inhumans are another group of outcasts on Earth gifted with extraordinary abilities. When the Kree experimented on the Homo sapiens on Earth millions of years ago, the result was creating a strain of humanity with extraordinary abilities. After the Kree abandoned the project, these individuals formed their own society and developed advanced technology in seclusion from the rest of Earth. The most notable aspect of their civilization is exposing themselves to the mutagenic Terrigen Mists, which gives the Inhumans superpowers, although many of them become deformed from exposure. In the present, the Inhumans are led by the silent, yet powerful Black Bolt and his royal family, and in the present they have revealed themselves to the public and participated in many iconic Marvel adventures and events. Marvel has hinted that they have an Inhumans movie in the works, but nothing has been confirmed yet. With mutants off-limits in the MCU (the film rights are owned by Fox), the Inhumans would be a great avenue through which to explore a group of people who have fantastical abilities. Not only that, but using the Inhumans would allow Marvel open up a wider world. Similar to the cosmic side of Marvel, the Inhumans are an alien culture. This is a society that has secluded themselves from the rest of Earth for thousands of years. These people would finally appear to the public to combat a threat only they can handle, and in the process they would be forced to interact with a world that has largely been foreign to them. This would provide interesting social commentary and would be fascinating to watch.
