10 Things Fanboys Won't Accept About 2016 Movies
1. ...But Civil War Isn't Perfect
Civil War was the clear winner this year, and the film is a gleeful slice of comic book movie fun that still manages to bring the feels when necessary. Civil War recaptures the goosebump giving zeal of seeing Superman fly or Spiderman web-slinging for the first time as it brings the pages to life.
Though it is damn near it, the film is not perfect. Marvel have been often criticised for looking like they came off of a conveyor belt with the flat, grey visuals and ill-timed humour being just two of the reoccurring problems.
Though Civil War does manage to inject some interesting visual feats the film is still guilty of looking factory made. The humour is more balanced than other outings, yet still jarring here and there. Without getting into specifics there are several moments that involve Downey Jr. flipping between joke-cracking to emotional that still clash on repeat viewings.
The most ardent DC fanboys will never accept the quality of Marvel being so above their beloved, even going so far as to claim that those who show the studio too much love must be in their pocket. Frankly, it would be great if this were the case because Marvel are so far ahead in this race that it would take a leg-breaking fumble for DC to catch up.
Or perhaps DC can tell Marvel their mums' share a forename and Marvel will inexplicably relent.
