8. Peter Parker’s Marriage To MJ
Spider-Man: TAS didn't start with a spider bite, but rather, dropped us into the story mid web-swing. Instead Spider-Man's origin story, there was a focus on Peter Parker's transition from adolescence into adulthood.
Seven Spider-Man movies in and we still haven’t seen Peter Parker continue to be a hero while he’s a married man. A mature Spider-Man with more to lose than ever would add a seriousness to the films and show us a side of Parker we have yet to see.
We need to see Spider-Man hit an all-time low like he did in TAS.
We need to see the same rage and anger that Parker had for Norman Osborn when he sent Mary Jane into the void. We need to see the pain and betrayal Parker faced when MJ's return was too good to be true.
Sony can't let their Spider-Verse continue film after film with happy endings and high-fives for the good guys. Thor and the Guardians have lost nearly everyone close to them over the course of a few movies. Sony needs to give our Spider-Verse heroes everything they've ever wanted...
And then rip them away without remorse.
