10 Things In The DCEU That Make No Sense

7. Lex Luthor's Plan In Batman V Superman Is Nonsensical

Lex Luthor has always been jealous of Superman's power, causing him to develop an unhealthy obsession with the Man of Steel. In the comics, Luthor has devised hundreds of schemes in the last 80 years to best the the Kryptonian.

However, none of these plans are as convoluted as what Luthor does in Batman v Superman. Luthor's scheme involves allying with terrorists, blowing up the Capitol building in mid-trial, locating an alien rock, forcing Batman to come out of retirement to battle Superman, and creating an uncontrollable monster with Kryptonian powers. There are over 20 other parts to Luthor's plan but I think I made my point.

Just before Superman battles Batman, Luthor reveals that he knows the heroes' secret identities. If he knew who they were, why didn't he expose them? That sounds like a way better idea than a 20-step plan where too many factors are left to chance.

Luthor's plan was meant to conclude with Batman killing Superman. If that's the case, why create Doomsday? If Luthor wants Superman dead because he could turn on humanity, why did he make a monster who has the exact same Kryptonian powers except it's way bigger, stronger, and has no conscience?
