10 Things In The DCEU That Make No Sense
6. There Are Too Many Coincidences In Shazam
After Billy Batson obtains magical powers from The Wizard, he is turned into The World's Mightiest Mortal, Shazam. Batson's step-brother, Freddy Freeman, is obsessed with superheroes so Shazam asks him to help him understand how to use his newfound abilities.
Within minutes, Shazam stumbles upon a mugging, giving him an opportunity to showcase his powers. In the very next scene, Shazam stumbles upon ANOTHER CRIME when he enters a store that is being robbed.
I understand the purpose of these scenes is for Shazam to learn each of his individual skills. But what are the odds that he would walk from one crime scene to another, minutes after obtaining his powers?
But the coincidences don't end there. The antagonist, Sivana, is trying to find Shazam so he can absorb his godlike strength. When Sivana notices Shazam on a news story, he sees that the superhero is friends with a teenager (Freddy Freeman).
You know how long it takes for Sivana to find Freeman? Five seconds. That's it.
Look, this movie is awesome and hilarious but you can't deny that the plot relies on a lot of convenient circumstances.
