10 Things We Learned From Marvel's 'Assembling A Universe'

3. Captain America: The Winter Soldier Still Looks Great (But We Didn't Get Much New Material)

As promised, we got the look at Captain America: The Winter Soldier. While the interviews were pretty on target, we didn't learn all that much new about the film. Agent 13's identity is still under wraps despite *spoiler* Emily Van Camp's casting was prefaced with the knowledge that she was Sharon Carter to begin with. Alexander Pearce is the leader of The World Security Counsel we saw giving the orders in The Avengers, which is different from the originally reported concept of Pearce being a senior agent/head of SHIELD D.C. Even Bucky's identity as The Winter Soldier is blatantly dropped into the segment's info dump. All of this was stuff that we already knew, with minor tweaks or details placed in the pre-existing narrative. Keep in mind, this happened on the same night that an 11 minute clip landed at several different sources on the Internet. It's not like there's a shortage of material, and it's not like we're asking for a lot of new details. Regardless of the shortage of new material, The Winter Soldier still looks to be on the fast track to being Marvel's next critical and commercial success.
