6. Make A Break From The Dark Knight Trilogy

Christopher Nolan€™s Batman trilogy turned the caped crusader from a laughable mess with bat-nipples to a gritty and successful franchise. This reversed DC€™s cinematic reputation, and so far they've stuck with this recipe. Man Of Steel was full of sombre tones and the grounded notions of the Dark Knight, but they had to be a bit more lenient considering the alien origins and nature of Superman. This worked to some degree, although it somewhat undermined Superman€™s message of hope. Now that Batman will be reintroduced to the cinema, DC need to make a clean break - they are certainly doing this with the costume, but we don€™t know about the voice and style of this universe€™s Bruce Wayne. Christopher Nolan consulted on Man Of Steel, and although Zack Snyder is the man at the helm of the DC Universe at the moment, a number of other high profile directors are being linked to the remaining films. This means that DC€™s shared universe will digress away from the Nolan style and become a diverse and interesting universe of its own, gaining accolades on its own merits, not due to a previous franchise.
