10 Things Marvel Fans Don't Want To Accept About The MCU

8. Sorry, But The TV Shows Don't Count

Oh boy, this is one some fans are definitely willing to die on a hill for.

While TV shows like Luke Cage and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. reference the wider Marvel Cinematic Universe (the latter even featured cameos from characters like Nick Fury and Sif), there's just no way at this point they can be considered canon. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige didn't want any of these shows to happen - he's never even watched Daredevil - and that's why they've been ignored on film.

With the launch of Disney+, Feige has finally got he wanted and Marvel Television is now "Marvel Studios Television." All the shows coming to that streaming service will be canon and inform the movies, while the excuse that TV and film schedules don't line up will no longer be needed.

It's fair enough that the likes of Runaways and Agent Carter have their fans, and there's nothing wrong with any of those shows (well, they're a little hit-and-miss for the most part, but entertaining enough). However, they're not canon, they don't matter, and never will.

As a great man once said, 'Nuff said!
