10 Things Marvel Wants You To Forget About Daredevil

2. His Arch Nemesis Was Nicked From Spider-Man

All rather embarrassing, but in recent years most of those recurring enemies have been sort of shuffled to the back of the room. If they pop up now, it's mainly as a joke, or a wink-nod reference to the character's cheesy past for readers in the know to pick up on. Instead, the past thirty or so years of Daredevil have mainly focussed on his constant struggles against one man. Wilson Fisk, better known as New York's Kingpin of crime, has something of a symbiotic relationship with Matt Murdock. The two have clashed umpteen times, with the hero trying to bring the constantly law-dodging villain to justice, and Fisk managing on multiple occasions to drive Daredevil to the point of madness. At this point the two are inextricably linked, with Vincent D'Onofrio playing the Kingpin as the lead antagonist in the Netflix series. Which is probably why Marvel will be keeping quiet on the fact that the character actually got introduced as a Spider-Man villain first, even appearing in the web head's nineties cartoon.
