10 Things Marvel Wants You To Forget About Daredevil

1. All The Other Attempts To Make A TV Series

A cartoon where Daredevil had a brief role, in fact, teaming up with Spider-Man and then defending Peter Parker in court €“ from the Kingpin's son, in fact €“ as Matt Murdock during the episodes €œFramed€ and €œThe Man Without Fear€. The character may still be best remembered for the Ben Affleck movie, but he's been a more frequent star of the small screen. Years before the Netflix series was even being considered, David Bowie's wife Angela tried to get a TV show about Daredevil off the ground. In 1975 she secured the rights and shopped around a project that had her as Black Widow and actor Ben Carruthers as Matt Murdock, but it never quite got off the ground. But it wasn't the last time someone would try. A couple of animated series were floated, including one where Daredevil would be paired with a crime-fighting guide dog called Lightning, a brief appearance in Spider-Man And His Amazing Friends, and a cameo in the nineties Fantastic Four show. ABC failed to get another live action pilot made, and the TV movie The Trial Of The Incredible Hulk was supposed to lead into a Daredevil show. None of which are going to have any bearing on this new show and, honestly, are almost impossible to find any details on. Marvel don't just want you to forget about them: they've pretty much buried all trace of their existence.
