10 Things Marvel Wants You To Forget About Daredevil

4. The Time He Fought Against Gas Vapour

Ah, the world of educational comic books. Mostly public service announcements come in the form of adverts and creepy films that get shown at schools or during dark moments on children's TV, but every so often an enterprising charity, government sector or non-profit gets it into their head there's another avenue to reach their young audience: comic books. Where else? Over the years there have been comics created to teach kids about the horrors of child sexual abuse (with your friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man!) and the importance of wearing seatbelts (with help from Supergirl, who flies and is invincible and so has never been in a car wearing a seatbelt!). One of the most ridiculous of these comics, meanwhile, was a Daredevil book produced with the help of the Consumer Product Safety Commission. Which involved Matt Murdock doing battle against Vapora, the physical manifestation of dangerous petrol fumes which you absolutely must never huff. Don't expect to see her in the Netflix series, or anywhere, ever again.
