10 Things MCU Fans Found Too Distracting
6. Steven Grant's English Accent
Yet a third entry on this list that relates to a character’s accent, and though that may seem like overkill, almost everything about a character comes through their voice. You will always hear a main character speak a lot throughout any movie, and so it makes for one of the biggest possible potential distractions.
This was the case in Moon Knight. Oscar Isaac played three characters throughout the MCU’s sixth Disney+ series, though Jake Lockley was only seen in the post-credit scene. The main two characters were Marc Spector and Steven Grant, the latter of which was given an English accent by the actor.
With the series being based in London, and there needing to be some easy way to differentiate between the two personalities existing within Marc’s body, this made sense. However, the actor received a lot of comments on his accent, not all of them positive.
The majority it seemed, weren’t fans. It was certainly a striking voice, and arguably not the best English accent in the world. It was a love it or hate it kind of character trait, but if you fell into the category of the latter, it became like nails on a chalkboard and just impossible to ignore.
