10 Things MCU Fans Found Too Distracting

It was never initially the plan for Phase Four of the MCU to open with WandaVision. Black Widow was supposed to be the Multiverse Saga’s curtain-raiser, with the Westview story not coming until Spring 2021. The pandemic changed everything, however.

Things were shuffled around on more than one occasion, and as a result, the team behind the scenes of WandaVision was still actually working on the show as the episodes were being released. Scenes were edited and cut, storylines revisited, and the series saw a lot of change.

Throughout WandaVision, even more so than Monica’s aerospace engineer, fans latched on to the possibility of Mephisto showing up in Westview. In fairness, there were more than a few clues dropped, from Agatha’s rabbit, the flies, and many more, but it ultimately came to nothing.

After every episode, it seemed more and more that fans were certain that Marvel’s version of the Devil would show up and become the series' - and potentially the greater MCU's - big bad. Director Matt Shakman even revealed that there was a plan to turn Señor Scratchy into a demon, so the fans were kind of right to pick up on all the little clues, but ultimately the reveal was cut.
