10 Things Movies Need To Stop Doing IMMEDIATELY
3. Making Everything So Damn Long
2022 saw a staggering TEN high-profile movies pass the 140-minute mark, with the likes of The Batman, Babylon, and Avatar: The Way of Water all nearly touching or even passing three hours of runtime in cinemas.
And while the box office success of Matt Reeves and James Cameron's never-ending outings suggests that folks are still quite happy to park their asses for that long in theatres all over the world, there are definitely still people out there who understandably wince at the thought of having to stay seated and hold their bladder for what can often feel like an eternity.
Again, if directors are able to craft a genuine masterpiece of an experience, three-hours can sometimes feel like a third of that time and fans will be quite happy to sign back up for a return visit to the likes of Gotham, Pandora, and the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
But in the case of projects like the aforementioned Babylon, Blonde, and 2021's Eternals, each of those flicks likely would've benefited from a tighter cut, with many viewers finding themselves losing interest long before the end credits rolled on these marathon outings.
