10 Things Movies Need To Stop Doing IMMEDIATELY

2. Spending Too Much Time In The Volume

The Volume acted as a ground-breaking piece of technology when it was first really used to help bring Jon Favreau's The Mandalorian series to life in 2020. But in the time since changing the game somewhat during Mando's initial adventures with Grogu, Disney have found themselves getting a little too obsessed with this shiny new toy.

With the massive LED screened sound stages helping reduce the cost of having to actually go out on location and shoot scenes, both the Star Wars and Marvel universes have become increasingly reliant on the tool. And this has unfortunately led to some rather clunky visuals often bogging down many of the most recent entries in that latter franchise, it must be said.

Perhaps due to the fact the directors involved just aren't as experienced when it comes to using the Volume as the folks helping bring the galaxy far, far away to life, the likes of Thor: Love and Thunder and Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania both came equipped with visuals that made the actors on-screen often seem as though they were detached from the environments around them.

There's still time for the industry's finest directors to get to grips with this useful new tech, of course. Right now, though, and when it comes to the MCU in particular, it may be wise to take a little break from all things Volume.
