One thing that has yet to be confirmed but has been strongly rumoured ever since Suicide Squad was announced is whether or not Lex Luthor will be putting an appearance in for the film. The casting of Jesse Eisenberg in the part of the Man Of Steel's arch enemy for Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice implies that the villain will be playing a big part in that film's plot, but will he have time to unveil another dastardly scheme in the same year's other big DC blockbuster? Like The Joker, Luthor has never traditionally played a part in the Suicide Squad, so his rumoured appearance could mean a move away from the source material...or a hint at what the status quo is in the DC Cinematic Universe. Lex Luthor has only once been involved with the Suicide Squad for any extended period of time, and that was during a particularly brilliant period in the comic books when Luthor managed to get elected President. Of the United States. Yep, Superman's nemesis and avowed supervillain Lex Luthor was Commander In Chief for a spell, and during that time he oversaw the formation of a new Suicide Squad, first in order to battle a cosmic menace threatening the Earth (in which case it was mainly C-list superheroes comprising the team), and later as his own personal hit squad who amongst other things he sent to try and stop Lois Lane investigating his presidency. So, could Batman V Superman involve a President Luthor...?
