10 Things Nobody Wants Admit About The Amazing Spider-Man Films

8. They Are Very Witty

One of the things that separates Spider-Man from the endless supply of comic book superheroes is his humour. Being a teenager behind that mask, Spider-Man is an inherently youthful superhero that does his best to keep things light-hearted and fun. Though all three of the character's most famous film interpretations have explored this, it's the middle film series that really nailed it.

The Amazing Spider-Man films benefit from witty dialogue that somehow manage to lighten even the darkest of moments which, considering their often mature tone, is a welcome approach. This lends itself nicely to Spidey's escapades - something that became abundantly clear when Peter first donned the Spider-Man outfit and jokingly defeated the car thief. From that moment, it was obvious they had nailed Spidey.

The almost ad-lib-like exchanges between Andrew Garfield's Peter and Emma Stone's Gwen (which we'll get to in more detail shortly) were also so incredibly witty - and naturally so, making every one of them an absolute delight.

Spider-Man needs his humour and these films had plenty.
