10 Things Nobody Wants Admit About The Amazing Spider-Man Films
7. The Web-Slinging Sequences Were Stunning
It would be wrong of this writer to say that every Spider-Man movie is only as good as its web-slinging sequences, but the truth is that they play such a major role in the character's adventures that if they failed to live up to expectations, they could sour your enjoyment of the film. That was never the case with The Amazing Spider-Man films.
Determined to outdo the admittedly brilliant swinging sequences from Sami Raimi's trilogy, Marc Webb offered up moments that were nothing short of awe-inspiring. The shaky camerawork designed to make it feel like we were going on that journey with him may have had something to do with it, or it could be down to the fact that the film played up to its 3D release, with shots intentionally making it feel as if Spider-Man was lunging out of the screen.
One of the most striking things, however, was how many of them adopted a very video game-like approach, allowing us to see Spidey's POV as he slung himself across New York.
With stunning sights and special effects that were (pardon the pun) downright amazing, Peter's web-slinging scenes were among the standout moments in both films, making for a very visually immersive experience.
