10 Things Nobody Wants To See In Indiana Jones 5

9. Another "Nuking The Fridge" Moment

It would be absurd to claim that the first three Indiana Jones movies erred on the side of realism, but there's always been a certain line that the films never quite crossed, into the purely nonsensical. Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, however, quickly became infamous for its "nuking the fridge" scene, in which Indy escapes a nuclear blast by hiding inside a lead-lined fridge and then emerging unscathed.

We can suspend our disbelief for plenty of ghostly shenanigans and hell, maybe even aliens, but in the scope of the series' tone, a layer of lead protecting Indy from getting flash-fried is more stupid than fun. As such "nuking the fridge" became the new "jumping the shark", and we hope that Spielberg has received enough flak for it that he'll keep Indy 5 just a little more grounded when it comes to the protagonist's possibility of survival.

How Likely Is It?: The fact that the phrase has entered the pop-culture lexicon is probably embarrassing enough that Spielberg won't attempt something so mind-bogglingly inane once again, though if he wants to be indignant, he could easily turn things up to 11. We'll go with no, though. 3/10
