10 Things Star Wars Fans Don't Want To Accept About The Movies

6. Darth Vader Vs. Obi-Wan Kenobi Was A Crushing Disappointment

A New Hope had only one lightsaber battle, and boy, was it far from a classic bout in the grand scheme of this franchise. At the time, it no doubt made for exciting viewing, but even before seeing the goofy, over the top flips and battles of athleticism in the prequels, this confrontation between Darth Vader and Obi-Wan Kenobi was a crushing disappointment.

If George Lucas was going to make any chances to the original trilogy after making the prequels, it should have been adding additional dialogue for the Sith Lord to better explain his hatred of his former Master. Given what happened between them the last time they met, this impersonal, tepid clash is one of the more underwhelming moments of a movie many won't have a bad word said about.

There is an explanation for this, of course, with that being the fact the sequence was a product of its time and Lucas not having the prequels mapped out when A New Hope was made.

However, some vastly improved versions of this battle can be found on YouTube, and it's preferable to pretend they're canon. Check one of the best out below:

Josh Wilding hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
