10 Things That Almost Completely Changed Spider-Man: Far From Home
1. Avengers Tower
The final scene of Far From Home sees Spidey swinging past the former Avengers Tower, currently being reconstructed by its new owner. Ever since that scene showed up in the trailer, fans have been speculating on who that new owner might be.
This speculation became especially rampant when it was rumoured that Far From Home's post-credits scene would reveal the game changing return of a classic Spidey antagonist, leading many to assume that the tower now belonged to Oscorp and the post-credits scene would set up the arrival of Green Goblin Norman Osborn to the MCU.
Of course, we now know that that final scene was just leading to a reveal of J Jonah Jameson (played once again by the inimitable JK Simmons) and his knowledge of Spidey's true identity. It's a great closing moment, but things could have been very different if Marvel had gone for an alternative reveal.
The Jameson reveal has big consequences for Spider-Man going forward into his next solo film, but Oscorp could have been something that Marvel made use of in the wider MCU beyond.
"I don't see a sign there yet," was all that Marvel head Kevin Feige would say about the Tower, which has also been rumoured to be the new Baxter Building (home of the Fantastic Four), "I don't think they (the new owners) put a sign up." Feige did confirm, though, that both Osborn and the Fantastic Four are in Marvel's thoughts going forward, even if the reveal of who the new Avengers Tower owner is will have to wait until another day.
