10 Things That The Batman Gets Absolutely Right

7. The No Kill Rule

Some past Batman iterations have played a little fast and loose with the no-kill rule. However there is a deliberate choice made in this film to steer away from a murderous reading of the Bat.

Even given his relationship with Catwoman, the film sees Wayne go out of his way to try to stop Selina Kyle from killing people, even extending to the film’s finale fight scene.

There are moments where it seems that Batman may have flung people off the roof to their death, where we question if maybe he has had to relent on his hard and fast rule – only to then have it revealed that he has put in the extra work to make sure that didn’t happen.

He is trying his best to not be the villainous vigilante that he is accused of being, and though he will take his violence a bit far than what would maybe pass in the police handbook as reasonable force, he never ventures into sadistic territory.
