10 Things That Would Have Happened After 2015's Biggest Movies
2. Jurassic Park - Claire's Going To Wish She'd Just Been Eaten
First things first; the fallout of the Jurassic World incident would have been massive. Genetic dinosaurs escaping their bonds and rampaging through a buffet of tourists of virtually every nation might actually be the single biggest news event of the 21st Century. In fact, I've personally covered this all in grotesquely unnecessary detail here, but the main takeaway is thus. Clare, for all her running around in heels and (in hindsight) actually well-formed character arc, is going to get every single last inch of blame and punishment going in the fallout. What's more, it's going to be Owen Grady that makes sure of it. Look at any major industrial disaster and what's the one thing people want as the dust is settling? Blood. Or, to use the more commonly-accepted terminology "justice". The Jurassic World blame game would be every bit as swift, gorey and merciless as anything that happened in the park that day. The only question is who's neck is going on the chopping block, and who's stood sufficiently far back to avoid any of the splatter? Simon Masrani, billionaire renegade and the brainchild behind genetically splicing together the most dangerous creature the world has ever seen, is in a pile of ash somewhere beneath his helicopter. Vic Hoskins, InGen's head of weaponry who was responsible for the program that ultimately weaponised a pack of wild animals, is occupied in clogging up the digestive tract of a velociraptor. Claire Dearing not only has the misfortune of still being alive, but doled out 3 separate orders that sent men to their deaths, and one that ultimately let the I-Rex out of its cage in the first place. The best she can hope for now is that her prison overalls match those heels. Worst of all for her, given that any relationship formed in a high-pressure environment never lasts, the smell of an exciting biopic in his nostrils, and with a team of prosecutors offering him safety if he testifies, Owen Grady's eye-witness account of events will be what sends her down. As they say 25-To-Life finds a way.
