10 Things The MCU Wishes It Could've Done Differently

6. The Inhumans

With its brilliant Netflix shows including Daredevil and Jessica Jones, enjoyable Coulson-centric spinoff Agents Of SHIELD, and strong period drama Agent Carter, the MCU's TV offerings were in a good spot in the summer of 2017.

But then, the Inhumans landed.

Initially announced as a part of the MCU's Phase 3 film slate, the property was instead adapted for TV, running for a single eight-episode series that debuted in September 2017. And to be frank, it was an absolute disaster.

With an awful 11% critic rating on Rotten Tomatoes and a fierce fan backlash, this was the MCU's first true misfire on both the big and small screens (Iron Fist season one did receive a negative reception a few months prior, but it was nowhere near as bad as this). Boring, lifeless, and melodramatic, Inhumans was a chore to sit through, lacking the budget and vision to make its grand ideas a watchable reality.

While Marvel Studios and Kevin Feige weren't directly involved with the show's production, it was an embarrassment for the Marvel brand overall, and was quickly buried and forgotten about. Feige clearly wanted to make an Inhumans movie at one point, and had he been allowed to do so, it would have been far, far better than the show, considering his track record.

He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
