10 More Worthwhile Things The Margaret Thatcher Funeral Could Have Funded

7. Deadwood TV Movies

Deadwood After the third season of Deadwood concluded, HBO unceremoniously decided not to pick it up for a fourth season, leaving everyone on the cusp of a pretty damn anti-climactic ending. HBO had initially promised creator David Milch two TV films to wrap things up, but this never came to light for unspecified reasons, and the actors, having moved onto other things, appeared to have made peace with the fact that the highly acclaimed show was never returning. Deadwood, like all HBO shows, is damn expensive. It cost reportedly around $5m an episode - what with all those period sets and the costume design - so £10m would barely get us 2 and a half episodes. However, it could get us at least one, maybe two, TV movies. It seems like the ship has probably sailed on this one now as everyone has moved on, but damnit, I'd still love to see it.
