Psychonauts is a fantastic game that is frequently cited as one of the best games that nobody's ever played. Despite overwhelmingly strong reviews, the game caused one of its publishers, Majesco, to post net financial losses of $18m, and 8 months after its release, it had sold a mere 100,000 copies, and just 400,000 by 2012. However, releasing the game as part of a Humble Bundle PC package last year caused the game to enjoy renewed popularity, and prompted many to ask creator Tim Schafer what the prospect was of a sequel. For the last year or so, an effort has been made to try and get Psychonauts 2 funded, but the high cost of an estimated $18m hasn't worked in its favour too much - potential backers have come and gone, and nothing has happened. Thatcher's funeral alone would have come up with £10m ($15m) of that high figure, which is over 80% of the way there.
