10 Things We Learned From Matthew McConaughey On The Joe Rogan Experience
9. How Does He Get The Most Out Of Each And Every Day?
Talk of how McConaughey took this time to centre himself before kick-starting his day prompted Rogan to summarise that the actor pretty much learned how to self-medicate through a unique form of meditation all on his own.
The versatile actor then revealed that there is another vital thing he does before he goes to bed at night. McConaughey makes an effort to "book in" the day, acknowledging what he has done and achieved throughout the last 24 hours before making a plan of the things he'd like to accomplish tomorrow.
But this list isn't purely stocked full of business meetings and professional targets. McConaughey also adds the "simple things you know you're going to do anyway", such as kissing his wife and dropping a deuce.
The idea behind this list being that the longer it is, the more he can tick off and feel like he accomplished a lot that day.
McConaughey also revealed that exercising - or "breaking a sweat" as he puts it - helps him visually turn his vertically stacked load of responsibilities and tasks on his shoulders into a lateral set of jobs that he can hop to as the day goes by.
