The actual Let It Be album seemed doomed from the start. With the band still at each other's throats after the unpleasant experience of the White Album, they never really got on the same page when it came time to make another record. After painful sessions, the actual project was folded while the band worked on Abbey Road instead.

The band may see Abbey Road as a clean slate to give their fans something special, but the origins of some of those tracks could have manifested themselves during the making of Let It Be. "Mean Mr. Mustard" and "Polythene Pam" both date as far back as the White Album sessions, and whilst we got a glimpse of these recordings on the 2018 re-release of the White Album, it would be interesting to hear some more of these songs in the context of the more stripped-down sessions of Let It Be.

The minimal approach to the recording process may have also had a cross-influence on John Lennon's "I Want You (She's So Heavy)," which could have been demo'd during the Let It Be sessions given how closely they were recorded. People may slag off Let It Be as a bit of a mess, but some of the ideas for Abbey Road may show a glimmer of light in between the half-baked ideas
